ELTT OLD LIFEBOAT STATION project team visit the site after close of play one afternoon last week. Here you can see that the chimney stack has been well raked out before it 's repointed. The original slates have been cleaned and are being re-laid with copper nails over modern roof lining and batons. A number of potentially serious defects have been discovered during the work which have been straightforward to fix, but which would have caused trouble had they not been discovered during this restoration project.
